- CONNECTIVITY. Uses USB 2.0 or 3.0 for power to emulate as serial port. Default speed is 57600 Kbps but can be increased to 115200 Kbps with the App or Software. Does not need driver in most cases. Links to load driver provided.
- OS SUPPORT. Runs on Windows (x64), Mac (Aarch64), Linux (x64), BeagleBone, Raspberry PI (64-bit), Orange PI (64-bit), Banana PI (64-bit). Fully ported to Python 3.
- SOFTWARE. Open source royalty free SDK and Demo can be downloaded from https://github.com/jence/j4210u-app. Well documented in English. Version is frequently updated. Features are constantly been added.
- TAG TYPE. Reads EPC GEN 2 ISO18000 6B/6C tags or inlays. Range upto 18 inch with large RFID tag (Like Avery Dennison DogBone). Can write into User Memory, change EPC value, change password, lock/unlock tag. Frequency range Frequency 902-928MHz (US and CN).
- POWER. Power setting can be adjusted using the Demo or Software from 0 – 26dbm. At maximum power, current drawn is only 320mA. Can work at this power continuously without heating up the device.
- READ RATE. Can detect multiple tags in fraction of a second at the rate of 50 tags/sec and display the chip type, memory information.
- COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Q algorithm based collision avoidance. Q range from 0 to 15. Up to 4 session is supported. Session allow multiple readers to operate on same tag without affecting the state.
- SERVER APPLICATION. SDK contain examples on how to send the tag data to a server using JSON messages. The tag inventory may be save into a file for later use. Tag inventory may be sent to a HTTP/HTTPS server as JSON query string.
- DEMO. The demo is written in Java and Pyton3. The open source demo allows in-place memory editing, changing the EPC code and memory content. The software is smart enough to know number of bytes in user memory, number of bytes in EPC and TID and detects if the chip has any user memory. In merge mode, all the tags read is merged allowing unlimited number of tags to be scanned.
- CONTENT. Includes 1 meter USB mini cable one EPC Gen 2 UHF sticker. 3D printed plastic enclosure. 1 Year Warranty.
Software
Must have Java installed for the platform. Download Java from here: https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/. The documentation supplied with SDK explains in detail how to download and install Java. Alternatively, the SDK also come with Python demo, which runs on most platform right away without installing Java. Python may have to be installed on Windows. Mac OS X come with Python already installed.
